Black Amber Strain THCa Flower – Living Soil Exotic AAA
We don’t work with this farm yet. We haven’t carried their flower before. But when the Black Amber came through the door, that changed immediately.
Black Amber is a Fullmoon Genetics creation — GMO crossed with OZ Kush BX2 — and it carries that lineage exactly the way you’d expect. Dense, dark, burgundy-toned buds dusted in amber trichomes so thick they catch light from across the room. The nose is GMO-forward: pungent, earthy, funky, gassy. But the OZ Kush BX2 underneath adds something warmer and sweeter that rounds out what could otherwise be a one-note profile. The result is a strain that smells like serious cannabis and hits like it too.
What our farmer told us about this run, though, is something we’ve never heard before. And we think it matters.
From the Farmer — Notes on Black Amber
“About six weeks into flower, I noticed the resin on Black Amber doesn’t just sit on the trichome head like most cultivars — it seems to pull downward, like the plant is trying to return something precious back to itself. I started calling it the gravity resin effect. I’ve never seen another strain express trichomes that behave that way under a loupe. It almost looks like tiny amber teardrops mid-fall. That’s where I think the name truly came from — not the color, but the movement.
The living soil really unlocked something in her root zone too. When I pulled the rootball at harvest, the mycelial network had colonized it more densely than anything else in that bed — by a wide margin. It was like the soil chose her. The fungal threads were almost silver-white and so thick you could see them with the naked eye woven between the roots. I believe Black Amber secretes something from her roots that actively invites fungal symbiosis more aggressively than other strains. A kind of chemical hospitality I’ve never witnessed before.
Personal tasting note: The exhale lingers on the back palate like warm beeswax and dried dark cherry — but there’s a fleeting middle note, maybe two seconds long, that tastes unmistakably like petrichor. Rain on hot stone. Gone before you can chase it.” – A friend of StaeFli.
That tasting note — petrichor, rain on hot stone, gone before you can chase it — is why we carry this strain. You don’t read that in a database. You earn it over a full run with your hands in the soil.
About This Farm
This is a new partner for us. A micro farm in Southern Oregon, growing no-till in living soil with an approach to cultivation that is as much observation as it is technique. We have never worked with them before. After tasting Black Amber, we won’t stop.
Black Amber Strain Genetics
GMO × OZ Kush BX2 Bred by Fullmoon Genetics — indica-dominant hybrid, 27–30% THC
- GMO (Garlic Cookies — GSC × Chemdawg) contributes the signature pungent garlic-fuel funk, heavy resin production, and the deep indica body effect with serious staying power
- OZ Kush BX2 (OG Kush backcross) adds earthy sweetness, California kush depth, and the warm, settled body calm that makes Black Amber so effective as an evening strain
Together these genetics produce a strain that users consistently describe as heavier than the numbers suggest — an experience shaped by terpene synergy as much as THC content. The mycelial density our farmer described at harvest is consistent with what living soil does to heavy resin producers. Black Amber invites that relationship. The soil responds.

Aroma & Flavor
Pungent, earthy, and warm. GMO-forward on the nose with a sweetness underneath that keeps it from reading as purely gassy.
Aroma: Pungent garlic-gas funk, earthy kush sweetness, dried fruit depth Inhale: Bold gassy earthiness and funky spice Mid-Palate: Warm beeswax and dried dark cherry — rich and deep Exhale: A fleeting note of petrichor — rain on hot stone — gone before you can chase it. Then the kush warmth settles in and stays.
Terpene Profile
- Myrcene — earthy musk, heavy body relaxation, sedative depth
- Caryophyllene — spicy, peppery warmth, stress and tension relief
- Limonene — subtle citrus brightness that lifts the GMO funk and keeps the high from feeling purely sedative
Black Amber tests in a range where terpene synergy matters more than the THC number alone. Users consistently report effects that feel heavier and more complete than the percentage predicts.
Effects
Black Amber builds. It opens with a focused, quiet euphoria — not energizing, not racy, just present and clear. Then the GMO kush genetics take over. Body relaxation sets in deliberately, layer by layer. By the end of the session you are settled, comfortable, and done for the day.
This is not a casual strain. It is an evening commitment. Plan accordingly.
Expect:
- Quiet, focused euphoria up front
- Deep, progressive body relaxation
- Warm physical ease and tension release
- Mood softening and stress dissolution
- Long-lasting sedation — serious couch territory at higher doses
