The Jet Fuel THCa strain is a sativa-dominant hybrid (70/30) with a sharp diesel smell that doesn’t require much imagination. Open the jar and fuel comes through quickly, followed by earth, spice, and a little sweetness underneath. It’s pungent enough that we’d probably steer candy-strain people somewhere else. Not All Gas Smells the Same

Calling cannabis “gassy” has become almost as broad as calling it fruity. Some gas strains smell sour. Others go toward garlic, rubber, skunk, pine, or something almost creamy. Jet Fuel sits closer to the sharp, chemical end of the spectrum. There’s diesel first, with an earthy OG character underneath. Give the flower more time, and you’ll catch a slightly sweeter edge cutting through the heavier smell.

This is also a strain we’d tell you to smell twice. The whole bud gives you plenty of fuel, but breaking it apart reveals more of the earth and spice beneath. That makes the profile feel less one-note than the name suggests. Jet Fuel may advertise itself with diesel, but there’s more happening once you get past the opening blast.

Jet Fuel Comes From High Octane x 365

Our Jet Fuel is a High Octane x 365 cross and leans sativa at roughly 70/30. High Octane brings OGKB and Irene OG influence into the mix, which helps explain the resin, earth, and heavier fuel character. The 365 side pushes the cross in a brighter direction. It’s an interesting combination because the flower doesn’t smell like what many people now associate with a modern sativa. There’s no giant tropical-fruit opening. It isn’t particularly delicate or floral. It’s a sativa for someone who still wants gas.

What Does Light Assist Mean?

Our Light Assist flower is greenhouse-grown using natural sunlight with supplemental lighting. You get the benefits of real sun while the grower has more control over the environment and light exposure. For Jet Fuel, it gives those gas-heavy genetics plenty of light without pushing the flower into the higher-priced Living Soil tier.

What Our Team Thought of the Jet Fuel THCa Strain

This is where Jet Fuel made the most sense to us. We have plenty of heavier gas strains at Sherlocks. Finding those flavors in something we’d be more inclined to reach for during the day gives this batch its own lane. The nose also lives up to the name. Sometimes a strain gets called “Fuel,” and you have to work pretty hard to find it. We didn’t have that problem here.

Our Sherlocks Rundown:

• Diesel comes first. It’s the easiest part of the profile to identify.
• The smell travels. This isn’t a particularly discreet flower once the jar is open.
• There’s more earth than sweetness. The sweeter note stays in the background.
• Breaking up the buds brings out more funk and spice.
• The resin is impressive for our Light Assist tier.
• We’d recommend it to gas lovers before fruit lovers.
• It gives us a daytime option for customers who normally gravitate toward heavier OG-style flavors.

Grower’s Note:

Jet Fuel grows a little differently from top to bottom. The upper flowers tend to stretch and remain looser, while the lower buds develop more tightly and densely. For this batch, the grower adjusted the lighting midway through flower to reach deeper into the canopy. That helped keep the resin, fuel-heavy smell, and overall quality more consistent across the harvest, not just on the best-looking top colas.
